Our students attended the Xiqu Guided Performance: Meets Xiqu – The Smiling, Proud Wanderer. The guided session featured a performance of Southern Chinese chant "任我行說唱," which interprets a classic martial arts tale through Cantonese storytelling and singing. It also included an excerpt from the opera where Linghu Chong, in self-reflection within a cave, comprehends the "Nine Swords of Dugu." The performance demonstrated the basic skills of "singing, reciting, acting, and fighting" in Chinese opera, integrated with artistic technology. Through this experience, students were able to savor the intricacies of Chinese opera and delve deeply into the literary world of Jin Yong.
